Services - Solar Thermal

The sun is hot. Much of that heat reaches the earth and is stored in the waters of the world to stabilize the global climate.

Using the sun’s heat for domestic and commercial water heating needs is the most efficient and cost-effective way to use solar technology today. It works everywhere in the Caribbean and pays for itself in only a few short years. There are over 50,000 solar water heaters deployed in the Caribbean today, saving millions of dollars in energy costs each year with a design life of 20 years on most systems and a warranty for 10 years.

Solar water heating equipment can easily be integrated into any new construction or retrofitted on existing buildings. In many cases, Cape Systems can help obtain project financing for the installation of commercial systems that will yield positive cash-flow from day-one.

Our systems are low profile, aesthetically neutral units that can be mounted either on a building roof or on the ground. In both cases these units are hurricane tested to 180 mph. In many Caribbean countries, electrical energy used to heat water accounts for up to 25% of total grid load at an efficiency of less than 5%. With energy costs ranging from $0.15 to $0.35/kwh this is money going down the drain.

Cape Systems will design and specify the system best suited for your application and provide the units at competitive prices. This is a technology that we expect to see widespread market penetration in the coming years as more and more home and business owners realize the benefits of reducing their costly electrical loads.
