Cape Eleuthera Institute is a sister campus to Island School that focuses on marine science and sustainability research.

The campus is one of the most innovative environmentally conscious facilities in the Caribbean, featuring:

  1. extensive local and recycled materials use
  2. 31.2 Kilowatt building integrated photovoltaic array (BIPV) capable of feeding power back to BEC grid
  3. biological wastewater treatment
  4. 100% solar water heat
  5. custom built furniture using 100% local woods
  6. passively cooled buildings
  7. rainwater catchment and storage for all freshwater needs
